Privacy Policy

The short version: Your spending data stays on your device. We never see it. Receipt images are processed by AI and permanently deleted within seconds. We do not link to your bank, your email, or your identity.
Data Stored on Your Device
All daily logs, spend triggers, challenges, savings goals, statistics, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
AI Receipt Scanning
If you enable the optional AI Scanner feature, receipt photos are sent to a secure server for processing. The AI extracts merchant name, amount, date, and spending category, then returns that data to your device. The receipt image is permanently deleted from our server immediately after processing — typically within seconds. We never store receipt images. The extracted spending data is returned to your device and stored locally only.
What We Never Collect
Day Zero does not collect, access, or store: your name, your email address, your bank account information, your location, your contacts, or any personal identifiers. There is no account creation. There is no login. There is no way for us to identify you.
Analytics
Day Zero uses privacy-respecting, anonymous analytics to understand how features are used (e.g. which screens are visited, whether onboarding is completed). This data contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify any individual user. No third-party advertising or tracking services are used.
Purchases
All purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive, see, or store any payment information.
Notifications
Day Zero can send reminders and streak alerts if you enable them. These are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to or from a server.
iCloud Sync
A future version of Day Zero may offer iCloud sync to keep your data consistent across your Apple devices. If enabled, your data would be stored in your personal iCloud account — managed by Apple, not by us. We would never have access to your synced data.
Launch Notifications
If you sign up for launch notifications on our website, your email address is stored on our server. It will be used once to notify you when Day Zero launches, then permanently deleted. It is never shared with anyone.
Children's Privacy
Day Zero does not collect personal data from any user, including children. Since we store no identifying information, there is no data to collect from anyone of any age.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will be noted clearly.
